TL;DR

vic0 + Malibuca (BIG) are champions of FNCS Major 1 Summit · Düsseldorf with 406 pts. They came back in M8 after Sky + Scroll’s early collapse — Sky + Scroll had led the standings by +10 going into the final match. Pollo + Peterbot (Falcons) finished #2 with 2 wins (M6 and M7), and Shxrk + t3eny (Aurora) closed the podium. The M8 final was won by EpikWhale + PXMP.

It was the perfect stage for Sky + Scroll. They had led since match one, Scroll’s clutches were unforgettable, and they entered the final match with a +10 point lead over second place. The math said the title was theirs. Then the math broke.

vic0 + Malibuca, BIG’s duo, pulled off one of the largest comebacks ever seen in a Summit Grand Final. One match was all they needed. The last one. The one that looked academic and ended up changing the champion — and the entire podium.

CHAMPION POINTS
vic0 + Malibuca close with +32 over #2 after the best final match they could’ve asked for. They went from #2 to champions in M8.

The biggest collapse of the tournament

Sky + Scroll had dominated the first seven matches with what looked like unquestionable authority. After M6 they led by +62. After M7 it had dropped to +10. And in M8 the unexpected happened: they died early in the game with no clear explanation. The bottom line: the match they had to close calmly ended with them out long before the final circles.

It was, without exaggeration, the biggest collapse ever seen in a Summit Grand Final in duos. They led 7 of 8 matches, finished outside the podium in the only one they couldn’t afford to miss. Competitive Fortnite has those days.

📊
For the #1 to fall outside the podium in a single match takes a rare combination: the leader dying early without scoring, and three duos below closing strong. M8 was exactly that.

vic0 won at home

The detail that adds a layer to the title: vic0 is German and Major 1 Summit was played in Düsseldorf. Winning the year’s first Major at home, in front of his crowd, isn’t something that happens often in this circuit. As M8 closed and the championship was confirmed, his emotion showed — the kind of moment that only happens once in a career.

For BIG, the German org, also winning a Major in Germany is the narrative closure every esports team chases. Local, at home, at the first Major of the year.

The day also belonged to Pollo

Pollo took two consecutive Victory Royales (M6 and M7) and finished runner-up with Peterbot.

If vic0 + Malibuca took the title, Pollo + Peterbot took the heart of the tournament. Two consecutive Victory Royales in M6 and M7, both with epic clutches from Pollo that pushed them from outside the top 20 up to runner-up. Pollo was, without exaggeration, the player of the day.

They finished #2 overall with 374 points and 2 wins — the only top duo to sign two match wins, and a finish that puts Falcons firmly in the conversation for the rest of the year.

EpikWhale + PXMP close the tournament

M8, the match that crowned everything, was taken by EpikWhale + PXMP. A Victory Royale that didn’t change the overall podium (they weren’t atop the standings), but it served as the symbolic closure of the event: the duo that best read the final match of the championship was the one that took it home.
